But what is dry ice and what makes it dry?
Dry ice is made from high-purity, mining-extracted carbon dioxide. Since it is not made from water by freezing, it does not melt and leaves no water behind. Dry ice is essentially a solid gas at -78.5 degrees Celsius. We also order this separately from one of our partner suppliers specializing in dry ice. There’s no need to worry, this is usually a cost of a few thousand forints, and we can provide thermo-storage. Dry ice is most often used to enhance opening dances at weddings.

The use of a dry ice machine (Chauvet Nimbus) creates a spectacular cloud that settles on the ground in seconds. Thanks to this, it feels as if you are walking on clouds. “The happy couple dances on clouds”. This special effect is most often used to enhance the wedding opening dance because the spectacle is stunning. At the same time, we can also enhance the mood during the party, as, unlike a smoke machine, the fog stays on the ground for a long time and does not immediately rise high. This is its most important advantage compared to smoke machines.
Is dry ice only for weddings?
The “dry ice for weddings” service can of course be used not only for the opening dance, but it can also be a great mood enhancer for any other performance, dance, or even during the night party. It floods the party venue, and the fog rolls 40-50 cm high. A kind of dry ice smoke is created. This special smoke machine truly makes the wedding show unique and spectacular.

CAUTION! Many people do not use real dry ice because it is expensive and difficult and dangerous to obtain/store/use. Since freezing can cause burns, as a cheaper solution, a simple smoke machine is cooled with ice (cold smoke, heavy smoke machine, etc.). They try to achieve a similar spectacle, but the desired effect is far from it. The smoke of similar clone machines stays on the ground for only a short time, minimal air movement disperses it and quickly takes on the temperature of the environment, causing the smoke to rise anyway (due to its physical properties). Photographers/videographers usually do not like this either, as they cannot work (blurry images are created due to the rising smoke, the smoke reflects the flash light) and the smoke can also disturb the smoke detectors of the venue providing the event. It is important to know that the frozen form of carbon dioxide, dry ice, which is not toxic under normal circumstances, but some safety rules must be observed for its use to be safe.
